The Commercial Vehicle Training Association, Inc. (CVTA), the national trade association representing the proprietary truck driving schools in the United States, Canada and Volunteer Training Center is proud to announce Charles Mothershed has achieved the level of Master Instructor. Mothershed is an instructor at Volunteer Training Center, a post-secondary school governed by the Higher Education Commission that trains individual's to obtain their commercial driver's license in only 15 days.VTC also offers job placement assistance with their training program.

Mothershed completed over 3,600 hours of teaching and completed 24 online module examinations in order to receive this prestigious certification. As a Master Instructor, Mothershed has attained the highest certification for instructor training offered by the CVTA. At present, CVTA has 49 regular member schools that operate approximately 180 training sites around the U.S. These sites graduate approximately 40,000 new entry-level drivers per year. As part of its commitment to the development process, five levels of certification and recognition have been established for instructors and member schools who have completed modules.With a rising shortage of drivers in the United States, The National Truckers Association has predicted by 2011 there will be over 100,000 driver shortages in the country.
